Linear Multianode Photomultiplier Tubes
Although linear multianode photomultiplier tubes (MAPMT) can be used in position sensing applications, they are more often used in spectral measurement systems where a grating placed in front of the MAPMT splits the incoming light into bands that can be individually resolved by the MAPMT. These devices find uses in a variety of applications including bioaerosol fluorescence detection, multispectral flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, laser scanning detection and angular light scattering. Linear MAPMTs are available from Hamamatsu and range from 8 elements up to 32 elements.
